Herbal Fundamentals Course

Meets 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays beginning June 11, 2016

Do you learn more from hands-on practice and experiencing how herbal medicines are actually made?

Monica Peralta has been a community herbalist making herbal medicines for a number of years. Many of Monica’s clients rave about her herbal salves, teas, and potions. In this six-week Herbal Fundamentals Course students become empowered to make natural medicines for themselves, their friends, and families.

In this interactive course, you’ll learn to use a variety of medicinal herbs to make herbal preparations.

You will become familiar with herbs from the class apothecary and our small herb garden. As we identify herbs and discuss their uses in food and medicine. We’ll sample some and make some tea.

You will also learn how to:

●  Acquire high quality herbs and store them

●  Make medicinal teas: infusions and decoctions

●  Extract herbs in alcohol, vinegar and glycerine

●  Extract herbs in oils and make salves, balms, and serums

●  And much more in a casual and interactive environment
